Government Assures Legal Backing and MSP Guarantee Amid Farmer Protests

During a heated session in the Rajya Sabha amid ongoing farmer mobilizations, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan assured the nation that the government would procure all agricultural produce at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Speaking during Question Hour, Chouhan emphasized the Modi administration’s commitment to remunerative pricing, stating that since 2019, MSP calculations have included a 50% profit margin over production costs. He also highlighted consistent interventions and criticized prior administrations for neglecting farmers' demands for fair prices.
