After hearing the arguments, the court rejected his exemption request and imposed a Rs 200 penalty for non-appearance. The court has now rescheduled the hearing for April 14, directing Gandhi to appear without fail.

Rahul Gandhi seeks exemption from appearance

Rahul Gandhi was supposed to come to court today, but his attorney filed an application for exemption on grounds of previous commitments. The application read that Gandhi, as the Leader of Opposition, had a pre-scheduled meeting with a foreign guest, and it was not possible for him to present himself before the court proceedings.

On being presented with his arguments, the court denied him his exemption request and imposed a Rs 200 penalty for non-attendance. The court has since re-scheduled the hearing on April 14, ordering Gandhi to attend by all means.
