Tired of being subjected to physical abuse, a woman from Chandigarh allegedly murdered her husband with the help of her relatives.
Fatehgarh Sahib: A woman allegedly murdered her husband with the help of three other persons in Fatehgarh Sahib area of Chandigarh. The woman was constantly assaulted by her husband and was upset over the same. The incident took place at Bassi Pathana block of the district.
The deceased man was identified as Karamjit Singh alias Raju. Raju hailed from Rampur Kaleran village of the block. He used to work in the technical department of the Railways.
Relatives helped accused woman
The accused woman was identified as Kuldeep Kaur. Kuldeep allegedly planned her husband’s murder as she wanted to take revenge for the domestic violence that she was repeatedly being subjected to. The woman was helped by three of her relatives- Maninder Singh, Parvinder Singh and her brother Sunny.
Around 10 years ago, Kuldeep got married Karamjit. It was a love marriage and the couple had three children. However, the accused used to assault Kuldeep after he got drunk.
Accused woman hit husband with wooden rod
During the early hours on Sunday, Sunny took Karamjit back home on a two-wheeler. During this time, Karamjit was allegedly drunk and was returning home from night duty,
When the two were on their way, Kuldeep attacked her husband on the head with a wooden rod.
The attack took place when the vehicle was near a link road that does not have any CCTV cameras.
Karamjit died on the spot as he was bleeding excessively. When the police learned about the case, they launched an investigation and solved it in less than 24 hours.
The accused were booked under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The police recovered the wooden rod and the bike used by the accused.
