he Delhi Police on Thursday apprehended Kishan, accused of stealing Rs 5.88 lakh from a cash collection agent in Bindapur. The accused is part of notorious ‘thak-thak’ gang which distracts commuters on the road and then rob them.
According to the police, on August 18, some miscreants threw stinking water on complainant Satish Chand who works as a cash collection agent in Samaypur Badli. Chand was carrying Rs 5.88 lakh cash on a scooty. He decided to go to a washroom on the way near DDA flats in Bindapur area along with the pillion rider to wash his clothes. When he returned after 20 minutes, his bag of cash was missing from the boot of the two-wheeler.
He lodged a complaint at the police station and the Anti-Auto Theft Squad sprung into action to nab the accused. After investigation and assessing CCTV footages in the area, the cops zeroed in on the ‘thak-thak’ gang that active in South Delhi area. The current status of members of this gang was verified and it revealed that one of the gang members has been released from prison on August 14. Technical surveillance was launched and the suspect Kishan was apprehended. It was also revealed that he was planning to flee Delhi in order to evade arrest.

Police also recovered the stolen cash worth Rs 5.88 lakh, one motorcycle and one scooty used in the crime.
The accused is a history-sheeter and has been involved in several similar crimes in the past.
