Delhi Assembly elections: BJP fields Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma against Kejriwal, Kailash Gahlot from Bijwasan

The Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday released the first list of 29 candidates for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Kailash Gahlot who had recently quit the AAP, alleging 'political ambitions' have overtaken the party's commitment towards people has been fielded from Bijwasan.

In other big contests, the BJP has fielded Parvesh Sahib Singh Verma against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and Congress Sandeep Dikshit in New Delhi, Ramesh Bidhuri against CM Atishi and Congress' Alka Lamba in Kalkaji, Vijender Gupta from Rohini, Rajkumar Chauhan from Mangolpuri, Arvinder Singh Lovely from Gandhinagar, Dushyant Kumar Gautam from Karol Bagh, Manjinder Singh Sirsa from Rajouri Garden, Raaj Kumar Anand from Patel Nagar, Ashish Sood in Janakpuri, and Tarwinder Singh Marwaha against Manish Sisodia in Jangpura.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in its final list of 38 candidates for the Delhi Assembly elections has fielded Arvind Kejriwal from the New Delhi constituency while Chief Minister Atishi will once again contest from Kalkaji. Saurabh Bharadwaj will represent AAP from Greater Kailash.

Gopal Rai, who has been nominated from Babarpur, Amanatullah Khan from Okhla and Satyendra Kumar Jain from Shakur Basti.

The Aam Aadmi Party has denied tickets to 20 of its sitting MLAs for the upcoming Delhi elections. Among them, three MLAs have had their family members—sons and wives—nominated instead. Vikas Bagga, son of SK Bagga, will contest from Krishna Nagar, Puran Deep Sahni, son of Prahlad Sahni, will contest from Chandni Chowk, and Pooja Balyan, wife of Naresh Balyan, has been fielded from Uttam Nagar.
